Donations

About 68% of our budget is derived from reimbursement for services (Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.) The remainder of the budget is obtained from fund raising, grants and donations. Memorial contributions are given in memory of loved ones.

Bequests

A bequest is a gift by will or living trust. The first step in expressing your wishes regarding the property you have accumulated is with long range estate planning and by creating a will. The second, and most difficult step is keeping it current. The help of an attorney experienced in handling estates is crucial.  Review and revision of your plans should include changes in the circle of your loved ones, changes in property and changes in federal and state laws.

Prayfully consider including Prospect Home Care & Hospice in your will. Contact us at 719-687-0549 if you are interested and we can guide you through the process.

Endowments

In some instances endowments are made to help with funding. An endowment provides funds that are set aside and invested to generate revenues. Expenditures are made from the earnings while the principle remains intact. The main reason to have an endowment is to provide financial stability and security to our mission. Endowments provide a dependable source of annual revenue. Unrestricted endowments can be used to "match" other gifts and double the impact. Donors can perpetuate their giving through endowments that will reach beyond their lifetimes.

A minimum endowment is $10,000.00. Unrestricted bequests can be designated for an endowment fund. We agree by accepting an endowment to accept responsibility to abide by the donors wishes on how the monies will be used each year within reason. Hopefully, the desires of the donor match the plan/dreams of the organization.

If you are interested in giving to Prospect's endowment fund or just contributing to the general fund, please contact us at 719-687-0549.

Fund Raisers

Prospect has three main fund raising events.

Daffodils are sold in the Spring. Fresh cut daffodils are sold and delivered to places of business in the community.

In the summer we usually have a silent/live auction with a buffet. A different theme for the auction may be selected each year. This has traditionally been Prospect's largest fund raising event.

In December, we hold our Lights of Love Celebration. Lights are bought in memory of someone who has died or to honor a special living person. There is a program of events usually featuring our High School Madrigal Group and a local bell ringers group. During the ceremony the names are read of the people being remembered and honored. The lighting of the tree concludes this event.

Is fundraising your forte? A special project volunteer position may be just what you're looking for! Our special project volunteers do just that -- help with special events such as bake sales, our auction, book sales, craft booths, Christmas and Thanksgiving food baskets. You set the amount of time you have to offer in whatever area of interest.

If you are interested, give the office a call at 719-687-0549.
